PVC waterstop may also have other names in different application scenarios. ◆◆ Key Points of the Laying Process for PVC Plastic Waterstop at Construction Joints


1. Pre - construction Preparation

Before the start of construction, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the construction site to ensure that the concrete base surface is clean, flat, and free from dust and debris adhesion. At the same time, prepare construction materials such as PVC plastic waterstops, fixing clips, and sealants in advance to ensure that the materials are complete.


2. Waterstop Laying Operation

Lay the waterstop along the direction of the construction joint, and strictly control its straightness to eliminate the situation of twisting. For the waterstop joints, use a hot air gun or an electric soldering iron for welding and bonding operations to ensure that the joints are tightly and firmly sealed and to prevent leakage risks.


3. Requirements for Fixing the Waterstop

Use fixing clips to firmly secure the waterstop on the concrete surface. The spacing between the clips shall be ≤ 500mm, and the clips and the waterstop shall be reliably fixed by welding or bonding. During the fixing process, pay attention to controlling the flatness and verticality of the waterstop to maintain the installation accuracy.


4. Key Points of Concrete Pouring

Conduct concrete pouring after the waterstop is laid. During the pouring process, it is necessary to avoid the direct impact of concrete on the waterstop to prevent the waterstop from being damaged by external forces and affecting the water - stopping effect.
