Polyurethane sealants have a wide range of applications, mainly covering the following aspects:
1.Construction Field: In the construction sector, polyurethane sealants are mainly used for the connection of building materials such as precast concrete components and the filling and sealing of construction joints; the sealing and caulking between the wooden frames of doors and windows and the concrete of walls; the bonding and caulking of lightweight structures (e.g., curtain walls) on buildings; the waterproof caulking of facilities such as balconies, swimming pools, and bathrooms; the sealing of joints in air conditioning and other systems; and the sealing of insulated double glazing and insulated window frames.
2.Automotive Field: In the automotive industry, polyurethane sealants are mainly used for the assembly and sealing of vehicle windows (primarily windshields) and the assembly of vehicle bodies with other components.
3.Civil Engineering Field: In civil engineering, polyurethane sealants are applied for the caulking and sealing of expandable joints in high-grade roads, bridges, and airport runways; the connection and sealing of pipe joints (e.g., sewers, underground gas pipes, and wire/circuit pipes) made of materials such as concrete, ceramics, and PVC; and the sealing of joints in subway tunnels and other underground tunnels.

◆◆ Usage Instructions for One-Component Polyurethane Sealant
1.Substrate Preparation: Ensure the surface to be bonded is clean and neat. Use tools such as a hand-held cutting machine, grinding wheel, and steel brush to clean the surface, exposing a solid structural layer on the area where the sealant will be applied. The joint surface must be completely dry, clean, and free of frost; all dust and cement slurry must be thoroughly brushed off. Rust layers and protective paint on metal surfaces should also be removed. If the structure is not dry, a blowtorch can be used for drying.
2.Primer Application: Before applying the sealant, a primer must first be applied to porous surfaces. Only a thin layer of primer is needed—sealant can be applied for caulking only when the primer surface is no longer tacky.
3.Caulking and Sealing: One-component polyurethane sealant is generally packaged in aluminum foil bags, with each bag containing 600 mL (approximately 750 g). When in use, open the seal of the bag, load the sealant into a caulking gun, and it is ready for application. In some cases, it can also be directly applied to the areas requiring sealing.
4.Protective Measures: Before construction, apply the primer to the surface. Once the surface is dry, attach 50 mm wide protective tape 10 mm away from both sides of the joint. This prevents excess sealant from soiling the surface of the structure during construction.
5.Precautions: Ensure the building surface is clean, dry, and free of oil stains. After applying the sealant, remove the tape and avoid washing the surface within 24 hours.
