Polyurethane sealant is a highly elastic sealing material based on polyurethane prepolymer. It forms a crosslinked network by absorbing moisture from the air or reacting with a curing agent, and after curing offers favorable elasticity, adhesion and displacement accommodation. Its most notable characteristic lies in reliable bonding performance with concrete and common construction substrates, and the ability to accommodate repeated joint movement caused by temperature changes, wind pressure or slight structural motion, making it a widely used product type in the construction and civil engineering sealing field.
This product is available in one component and two component forms based on packaging and curing method. One component polyurethane sealant is moisture curing, suitable for sealing conventional building joints, curtain wall joints and general waterproof nodes. Two component polyurethane sealant consists of a base and a curing agent packaged separately in pails, mixed on site in proportion before use, suitable for large area caulking and projects with tight schedules, providing greater controllability over the application pace.
After curing, the product forms an elastic sealing body capable of accommodating certain displacement. Its surface can be painted to match building exterior or interior colors. Product performance indicators can be adjusted according to actual engineering conditions, to meet the specific requirements of different service environments and construction conditions.
Polyurethane sealant is widely used in building curtain wall joints, auxiliary sealing of expansion joints, underground works joint waterproofing and airport pavement joints, delivering favorable weather resistance under normal outdoor service conditions.
