The steel edged rubber waterstop is a composite sealing product that firmly bonds an elastic rubber core with rigid steel strips on both sides. Its most notable characteristic is the dual advantage of combining rigidity and flexibility: the central rubber section provides high elasticity and excellent movement accommodation, maintaining a continuous seal during joint extension, settlement or shear movement; the bonded steel edges greatly enhance anchorage with concrete through mechanical interlock and an enlarged contact area, effectively preventing displacement, twisting or inversion of the waterstop during concrete placement and vibration, thus maintaining precise positioning.
Profile configurations can be customized according to engineering needs. Beyond standard specifications, dimensions including profile shape, width, thickness and length can all be flexibly adjusted to suit different joint widths, movement capacities and installation spaces, ensuring close integration with the concrete structure design.
This product is particularly suitable for critical joints subject to high water pressure, large settlement or demanding movement requirements. Typical applications include joints in very long diaphragm walls, segment joints in immersed tube tunnels, movement joints in large bridge piers, and sealing systems in important hydraulic structures with stringent requirements for seepage prevention. It delivers stable service performance over the long term under high hydrostatic pressure and dynamic loading conditions.
